The Federation of Asian Retailers Associations (FARA) was established in 1989. As stipulated by its constitution, only one organisation, such as association, chamber, body or entity, from each single country or region can be recruited into FARA under the condition that this organisation is capable of representing the retail industry of its own country or region.
MRA is the only representation from Malaysia to FARA whose members cover 17 Asian Pacific countries and is one of the Federation's founding members.
All the FARA members are the most authoritative and representative associations for the retail industries of respective countries and regions.
They include Australian Retailers Association (ARA), Brunei Malay Chamber of Commerce Industry, China General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC), Chinese Taipei Retailers Association (CTRA), Fiji Retailers Association (FRA), Hong Kong Retail Management Association (HKRMA), Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), Indonesia Retail Merchants Association (APRINDO), Japan Retailers Association (JRA), Korean Retailers Association (KRA), Malaysia Retailers Association (MRA), Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MNCCI), New Zealand Retailers Association (NZRA), Philippines Retailers Association (PRA), Singapore Retailers Association (SRA), Thai Retailers Association (TRA), and Turkish Council of Shopping Centres & Retailers (TCSCR).
